Norwich — An Enfield man was arrested early Tuesday morning when police discovered that he was in possession of a large amount of crack cocaine during a routine traffic stop.
Terrence B. Jones, 23, was charged with speeding, driving without a license, possession of crack cocaine and possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell.
Sgt. Christopher Conley said police were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Washington Street about 1:33 a.m. when they stopped a car for speeding.
The driver, later identified as Jones, was also driving without a license. Conley said patrol officers discovered that Jones was in possession of 1.81 ounces of crack cocaine, which was packaged for street sale.
