I am writing in support of Bill Satti, candidate for state senator in the 20th District.

I have known Bill since his high school days, where I taught and coached him. Bill showed his strong leadership skills at a young age by being elected captain of our football and wrestling teams for a number of reasons. Most striking was the respect he earned with his innate ability to see problems, figure out solutions and smooth over differences.

I am pleased to see that after high school Bill continued to make a difference in the lives and direction of others, regardless of their gender, race, economic situation, political allegiance or place of residence. Many know this commitment led Bill to serve New London as mayor.

What many don't know is that Bill has taken that same commitment to helping the youth of the region with his efforts as a volunteer in youth activities.

He has actively participated as a coach but also helped provide them much of the background needs such as transportation to practice and games ranging in locations from New London to Woodstock.

Bill Satti will make an outstanding state senator.
