Montville mayor urges residents to go solar
Montville residents will find an insert in their tax bill about an exciting program called Solarize Montville that can help save them money on their electric bills without increasing their property tax bill. This program is a town and state sponsored initiative to give Montville residents an opportunity to install affordable solar on their homes. Montville continues to seek and provide residents with opportunities for reducing energy costs and switching to cleaner energy options. As more residents embrace this solar technology, the cost is reduced for everyone.
I believe that our partnership with Solarize CT and SmartPower, with financial incentives provided through the Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority, coupled with federal tax credits, will allow Montville residents to reasonably afford to make the switch to cleaner energy and reduce our carbon footprint.
Town officials reviewed proposals from solar companies across the state and chose RGS Energy to be our installer. They are a well-established company with local ties, installing solar since the 1970s. Please sign up for a free no obligation solar site evaluation to find out if your house is right for solar at solarizect.com/Montville or attend our workshop on July 23 at Town Hall at 7 p.m.
