    Sun visit Liberty today

The Connecticut Sun have gradually figured things out such as a new system, playing off of new teammates, and how to win close games.

Road wins are still an issue, however, for Connecticut, which visits the New York Liberty today at Madison Square Garden (3 p.m., MyTV9).

The Sun (8-7) lost at the Washington Mystics on Friday night, 69-63, snapping a six-game win streak. They're 1-5 on the road.

Connecticut's only road win was in the Garden against the Liberty (83-75, June 13). The Sun have beaten New York in two of their three meetings, and they have extra motivation to win today - they acquired the Liberty's first-round pick in the 2015 draft in a deal that sent All-Star center Tina Charles to New York.

The teams play one last time at Madison Square Garden on Aug. 8.

Rookie Chiney Ogwumike has averaged a team-high 15.9 points and 7.9 rebounds for the Sun and Katie Douglas is averaging 12.5 points.

Charles (16.1 points, 9.3 rebounds) and Cappie Pondexter (14.7 points) lead the Liberty (4-11). Pondexter was scoreless in Friday's 73-69 home loss to the Chicago Sky.
