    Nantucket contingent enjoyed Morgan visit

On behalf of the staff and Board of Trustees of the Nantucket Historical Association, we would like to offer our gratitude to our friends at Mystic Seaport, Steve White, Matthew Stackpole, Dana Hewson, Quentin Snediker, and the board in particular, for their generosity in inviting those of us living along this shallow-water port of Nantucket to enjoy the thrill of seeing the last remaining whaleship, the Charles W. Morgan, happy and afloat in New Bedford Harbor.

We work very closely with the New Bedford Whaling Museum and Mystic Seaport on so many ventures, but none has come close to rivaling this experience of being with kindred spirits on the docks of New Bedford, touring and enjoying the Morgan. Congratulations to all who have made this remarkable initiative possible. What a gift to American history. We applaud your foresight, your hard work, and your endurance.

    Fair Winds!
