Preston — A Chester couple was sent to the hospital Saturday evening after police said the car in which they were driving crashed into a tree off Route 2A in Preston.

Adrienne Buckley, 64, of 59 Wig Hill Road, was driving a 2003 Mini Cooper when she failed to stop for a traffic light at an intersection, striking a tree next to the road, according to a police report. Both she and her husband, John Buckley, 62, were taken to Backus Hospital, where they were treated and released.
