    H.S. roundup: Old Lyme girls cruise to 7-0 win over Westbrook

    Old Lyme - Hannah O'Brien and Maddie Ouellette scored two goals apiece as Old Lyme High School rolled to a 7-0 victory over Westbrook in a Shoreline Conference girls' soccer match on Thursday.

    Maddie Zrenda, Julia Smith and Abby Berger each added goals for the Wildcats (3-1, 3-1) while Julia Strycharz, Meredith Aird and Keelin Hurtt were credited with assists and goalie Tori Sims stopped four shots to earn the shutout.

    In other games:

    • Kelly Lamb scored the game's only goal in the 55th minute as unbeaten Ledyard, despite being outshot 15-4, edged Woodstock Academy 1-0 in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division. Delaney Gagnon was superb in goal for the Colonels (4-0, 2-0), making five saves.

    • Cassidy Marshall scored a pair of goals as Norwich Free Academy outlasted Fitch 4-2 in the ECC Large Division. Julia Roderick and Sophia Formiglio also scored goals for the Wildcats (2-1-1, 1-0-1), who held a 20-15 edge in shots. Aly Clarke scored for the Falcons (1-4, 0-2), whose other score was the result of an own goal by NFA.

    • Mia Londregan scored a pair of goals as St. Bernard beat Tourtellotte 3-0 in an ECC Small Division game. Kara Bassett had a goal and an assist, Alex Santiago made seven saves and Shannon Amarello and Lili Smith had assists for the Saints (2-0, 2-0).

    • Haley Ashton and Samantha Lee scored two goals each as East Lyme beat Bacon Academy 5-0 in the ECC Large Division. Isabelle Moore scored a goal and Gabby Fiengo made three saves for East Lyme (3-0, 2-0).

    Boys' soccer

    • NFA scored its only goal early in the second half off a corner kick to defeat Fitch 1-0 in the ECC Large Division. Zach Robert's corner was redirected by teammate Mohammad Nejad right to Santiago Manrique, who found the net for the Wildcats (2-0-1, 1-0-1), who held a 29-2 edge in shots. Goalie Seth Strader made two saves for NFA while Greg Cooper stopped 15 shots in goal for the Falcons (0-4, 0-2).

    Girls' swimming

    • Mikaela Dimaapi won two events, leading Fitch/St/ Bernard to a 109-60 win over NFA in an ECC meet. Dimaapi won the 50 freestyle (27.48) and 100 free (1:00.55). Skyler Pearse, Lauren Roper, Kailyn Lambert and Holly Conlon each won an event and were on winning relay teams for Fitch (1-1, 1-1). Emma Buckridge won the 200 freestyle (2:04.39) and 100 butterfly (1:04.62) for NFA (0-3, 0-2).

    Volleyball

    • Grasso Tech's Keila Lastraglio had 16 points, four kills and three digs as the Eagles lost to Amistad in a Constitution State Conference match, falling 9-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-22. Magda Martinez had nine kills and eight points, Nicole Mallette Ferrance had 10 points and Brenda Ramirez had five points for Grasso (2-3).

    Cross country

    • Ross Golebiewski finished second in 16 minutes, 22 seconds to lead Old Lyme to a second-place finish in the Going to the Sun Invite at Coginchaug. Mae Lucey finished 10th in the girls' race for the Wildcats, who won first place with the best combined team score (boys and girls).
