Artisans Harbor exhibit won't last long...

    Painting by Kim Scoble II

You know how some of those really exotic traveling art shows - 19 never-before-seen Sharpie works by Camille Pissarro or the two-story-tall mustang by Remington made entirely of Popcicle sticks - will be in the same museum for about a year and a half? Well, Artisans Harbor in Old Saybrook has a more "express" approach to exhibits.

Take, for example, their latest. It lasts, ah, two hours. Yep, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, the Artisans Harbor Annual Autumn Open House and artist demonstrations takes place. In addition to new works by participating members, there will be complimentary wine, cider and appetizers. And many artists will share their techniques in a variety of disciplines. 188 Main St., Old Saybrook; (860) 388-9070, artisansharbor.com.
