Your Fantasy Man is primed for fresh pigskin carnage!

Welcome to Week 12, everyone! The playoffs are two or three weeks away for most fantasy football leagues and I hope you’re sniffing the post-seasons. The Real Mister Fantasy’s going to dole out some tidbits of knowledge to help you secure a spot - or to fulfill your duty as spoiler.

    RUNNING BACKS

    Last week

I was right-on with Jeremy Hill (150-plus yards) and Alfred Morris (96 yards). I said stay away from Andre Ellington - 19 rushes, 42 yards - and all Detroit backs - Joique Bell (14/85) and Theo Riddick (2 yards rushing/24 yards receiving).

    Grade: A-

    This week

Stay with Jeremy Hill even though backfield mate Gio Bernard probably gets back in the line-up. Hill has established himself as a guy who is valuable in the Bengal run game - keep riding him.

Isaiah Crowell was a surprise starter last Sunday after the release of Ben Tate. The “Crow” will most likely have a good day against the Atlanta D. I think he holds onto the stating job if he holds onto the ball. Terrance West is number two but should get plenty of touches. I think both are good plays.

EDITOR'S NOTE: By the time you see this, it will be too late to start Clint's original sleeper choise: Oakland rookie Latavius Murray, who rushed for 112 yards on four carries during the Thursday night in their upset of KC. This oversight is due completely to The Day's Rick Koster, who was in charge of posting Clint's blog and, well, SLEPT THROUGHT his responsibility.

    (Koster grade: F)

    Now, back to Clint!

As I was saying about running backs: Denver and Indy are dealing with injuries. Denver’s Anderson and Indy’s Richardson are stepping into starting roles, but don’t forget their back-ups are also suddenly relevant. In Denver its Juwan Thompson and Indy has Daniel Herron in the breach - each just one twisted ankle or pulled groin from starting.

    WIDE RECEIVERS

    Last week

I predicted Keenan Allen would score his second TD - he didn’t - but he did amass 8 catches for 83 yards (16 or so points in a PPR). I recommended all Vikings receivers and said to stay away from Bears receivers. Obviously, it was Opposite Day for RMF as the Bears' Marshall and Jeffery collectively hauled in 18 catches for 226 yards and 3 TDs - while the Vikings were lucky to score a total of 13points.

    Grade: F

    This week

Sunday is Josh Gordon Day in Cleveland as the NFL’s leading receiver last year comes off a 12-game suspension. Some folks recommend waiting a week and let him get a game under his belt - but I believe he's locked and loaded to the tune of 100 yards and a TD. He's QB Brian Hoyer’s BFF. The running game will also improve as the Atlanta D has to account for Gordon. I like Cleveland to destroy Atlanta on their way to the playoffs this weekend.

Tampa’s Mike Evans has become a monster. All he did last week was score 2 TDs and a 200 yard “burger”. This week he gets the Chicago D - not very good - and I believe his QB, Josh McCown, who filled in for the Bears last year while Jay Cutler was injured, will try to show the Bears they let the wrong QB go at the end of last season.

I’m calling for Houston’s Andre Johnson to get a TD this week against the Bengals. Surprisingly, he’s actually available on some waiver wires due to his lack of production this year. QB Ryan Mallett, making his second start in a row, has a big arm, knows the system and instantly upgraded Johnson’s value in his first start last week.

    QUARTERBACKS

    Last Week

I thought Mark Sanchez and RGIII would have good days. I was half right: Sanchez scored for ya but RGIII had a bad day against what had been an inept Tampa D. Mr. Griffin heard the crowd chanting for back up QB (and former Longhorn) Colt McCoy. Our government isn’t the only non-functioning entity in DC.

I thought Cam Newton would have a good day and he did - not if you’re a Panther fan because they lost the game and he didn’t play very well - but in the fantasy world he scrounged together 21 points.

    Grade: C+

    This week

Mark Sanchez and the Eagles will win in Philly against Tennessee.

Josh McCown will have a solid day against the Bears - a revenge game for him in Chicago.

Brian Hoyer - he's usually boringly reliable for 8 outta 15 and 150 passing yards every week BUT ... Mr. Hoyer? meet Mr. Gordon. He'll get a couple of TDs this week and have 250 yards.

Ryan Mallett - Houston’s strong armed QB makes the whole team better and I’m predicting a good game wherein they upset the Bengals.

    TIGHT ENDS

    Last week

I recommended Travis Kelce. He caught 3 for 37 yards and had a fumble. He'ss officially dead to me!

My prediction: Gronk, Jimmie Graham and Greg Olsen would have good games. I was 33.3% right. Gronk was/is a monster and had a monster game while the other two were pedestrian.

    Grade: D

    This week

Vernon Davis has been a ghost this year, but I predict a TD this weekend.

Dewayne Allen is probably not going to play, so Coby Fleener steps into the fray and should have a good day against the Jacksonville D.

    DEFENSES

    Last week

I recommended the Denver, Detroit, San Diego and Cleveland Ds. Detroit and San Diego played well but Denver and Cleveland had off games.

    Grade: C

    This week

Play the Philly, New England, Seattle and Buffalo Ds - they're all set to have good days.

One last note to everyone - be sure to be a good owner and try to win every week even if you’re out of contention. We’ve all had years and been in leagues where you have bad luck and make all the wrong moves and its obvious to you and everyone else in the league that you’re not going to make the playoffs. Stay with it and manage your teams to the best of your ability; otherwise, it skews the results for the other teams. As Queen sang, “keep on fighting till the end!”

Now, go out and win your games this weekend and good luck to everyone - unless you’re playing me.
