    Justified outrage over Ferguson shooting

As I begin this letter it is Dec. 7, the smoke over Ferguson, Missouri, still hangs both figuratively and literally. As a result of this tragic event, our nation needs to do some serious soul-searching.

A writer recently asked, "When is the NAACP going to be happy?" That I must say is a stupid question.

The police officer who shot Michael Brown resigned after the grand jury declined to press charges. That is a good start, but what took him so long to do the right thing after using excessive force on Michael Brown? He shot him 11 times, then left him to bleed to death. The body lay in the street for four hours.

This raises the question: Why was an ambulance not called immediately?

Anyone who thinks the black community ought to shut up and get over it is an idiot.
