    Post-game breakdown: Central Connecticut

As expected, UConn cruised to victory.

The Huskies won by double figures for the second straight game, routing Central Connecticut State University, 81-48, at the XL Center.

A 37-5 spurt put the game away.

    Here's a post-game breakdown:

-- Five players scored in double figures for the first time this season. Ryan Boatright had a game-high 18 points.

-- CCSU coach Howie Dickenman, a former UConn assistant, on his team's play: "I'll always be a Kevin Ollie fan and a UConn fan, second to Central Connecticut State University. Obviously, they played well. We made it a little bit easier for them, but they are a very, very good team."

-- The Huskies dominated every category, including rebounding (42-28). They had 42 points in the paint.

-- Freshman Daniel Hamilton was the only UConn starter not in double figures, but he did contribute six points, seven rebounds and a team-high six assists.

He has 22 assists in the last four games.

-- UConn improved to 4-0 when leading at halftime. The Huskies were up 35-23.

-- Coach Kevin Ollie on sophomore Kentan Facey's first career double-double (12 points, 12 rebounds): "I really appreciated Kentan's effort."

-- The Huskies shot 53.3 percent from the field, but just 26.3 percent from 3-point range. They made 12 of 13 free throws.

-- CCSU shot an icy 31.5 percent overall.

-- In the first six minutes of the second half, UConn out-scored Central, 22-2.

-- UConn is averaging 80.5 points in the last two games.

-- Former UConn standout Ray Allen attended the game visited the CCSU locker room after the game. He spoke to the Blue Devils for about 10 minutes.

-- Junior Phil Nolan drew his 10th charge in 10 games.

-- Guard Rodney Purvis continued his hot shooting streak, going 4-for-7 from the field and scoring 14 points. He's 11-for-15 in the last two games.

On the flip side, Sam Cassell Jr. is struggling. He's 2-for-11 in his last four games.

-- Dickenman made a point to praise the contribution of senior Greg Andrade, who's from Windsor.

A former walk-on, Andrade had a career high 13 points.

"He's one of our bright lights today," Dickenman said.

Andrade also excels in the classroom, posting a 3.6 grade point average.

-- Up next: UConn hosts Temple on Wednesday in an American Athletic Conference opener. Game time is 1 p.m. at the XL Center.
