Waterford — Police are investigating the armed robbery of a person making a night deposit at the People’s Bank branch at 716 Hartford Road Saturday night.

Police said that at 9:38 p.m. they received a report that a man displayed a handgun and stole an undetermined amount of cash . The man fled on foot to the rear of the building and a search of the area was unsuccessful. There were no injuries and the bank was closed at the time.

The man is described as black, between five feet six and five feet nine inches tall, 260-275 pounds, wearing dark blue clothing and a red and orange scarf. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 860-442-9451.
