    High school roundup: Fitch girls edge Ledyard in ECC Large

    Ledyard — Jaliyla Griffin had 10 points as Fitch High School edged Ledyard on Monday, 39-35, in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division game.

    Jackie Lewis had nine points for Fitch (5-5, 2-4).

    Michelle Klinikowski had 10 points for the Colonels (7-5, 3-2) and Julia Lavin scored 10.

    In other games:

    • Taylor LaVallie had 14 points and six rebounds as Montville downed Trinity College Academy, 55-14. Madeline Campbell had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Montville (7-5).

    • Old Lyme seized control of the game from the start, beating Valley Regional, 55-31, in the Shoreline Conference. Abby Stone had 14 points and six steals and Hannah Paynter added nine points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats (9-3, 9-2).

    Boys' basketball

    • Jacob Raggon scored 22 points as Wheeler cruised to a 66-30 victory over Tourtellotte in an ECC Small Division game. Mike Dellaporta added 12 points for the Lions (4-4, 1-2) while Alex Haines had 10 rebounds and T.J. Condon five assists.

    • Remy Bonser had 17 points as St. Bernard beat Putnam, 64-51. Graham Fagerquist and John Vogt each scored 12 for the Saints (5-2).

    • Luke Ford scored 16 points as Haddam-Killingworth outlasted Old Lyme 55-53 in the Shoreline Conference. Jacob Ballachino, Drake Gavin and George Doll scored 11 points apice for the Wildcats (8-2, 8-2).

    • LaSalle Academy (R.I.) outscored Fitch, 22-10, in the first quarter and went on to post a 70-54 victory, ending the Falcons' seven-game winning streak. Eddie Volkerts had 20 points, 15 rebounds and five assists for Fitch (8-2).

    Hockey

    • Kevin Close scored the Eastern Connecticut Eagles Co-op's only goal in an 8-1 loss to Joel Barlow. Pete Yapchanyk and Will Vorra each had assists for Eastern (3-5).

    Gymnastics

    • Anna Ciriello won the all-around competition with a score of 32 to power NFA past Windham, 123.40-70.85, in the ECC. Ciriello placed first in the floor (8.40) and the beam (8.0). NFA's Quinn Sinay won the vault with an 8.45 and teammate Rhiannon Wilbur took first in the uneven bars at 7.7 for the Wildcats (2-0, 1-0).
