    Political patronage indeed shameful

The recent column by David Collins, "Malloy patronage is shameful," (Jan. 21), was on target. Where does a governor get the idea that he need not appoint people who are at least characterized as capable in experience and education to positions that are clearly important to the lives of us all. This certainly changes my opinion in expecting the governor to improve the well-being of the rest of us! Winning appointment to these positions seems to be only the right of politicians.
