U.S. Postal Service investigates missing mail in Uncasville

Montville – U.S. Postal officials say they have wrapped up an investigation into complaints of missing mail along a carrier route originating from the Uncasville Post Office.

On Feb. 6, residents along one postal route complained of undelivered mail, according London Mulcahy, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Postal Service Office of the Inspector General.

The complaints prompted an investigation that includes actions of the mail carrier that day.

Results of the investigation were recently forwarded to the U.S. Postal Service. Mulcahy declined to discuss details of the investigation, citing the possibility of legal action.

Information on which route or the number of customers affected was not immediately available.

Customers in the Uncasville area who did not receive mail on Feb. 6 may call 401-229-9250 to file a complaint.
