Take a peek at 'Coast Guard's Golden Age'

The Gallery at Firehouse Square in New London presents a preview of the exhibition "The Coast Guard's Golden Age on the Silver Screen" this weekend.

After retiring from the Coast Guard in 1972, Ralph Judd collected more than 500 movie posters, lobby cards and press packets featuring Coast Guard personnel in action. The posters have been donated to the U.S. Coast Guard Museum, and Mary-Elizabeth Pratt has curated a selection of the items from the 1920s to the 1950s.

Pratt will attend a VIP reception tonight from 5:30 to 8 p.m. to share her expertise. Food and beverages for the event are sponsored by 2 Wives Catering. The exhibit is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22.

For more information, send email to robin@fireshousesqure.com. The gallery is at 239 Bank St., New London.
