I've never written a letter to the editor before, but after reading, "New London audit reveals nearly $850,000 surplus,” (March 26),“ that New London balanced its budget for the second year in a row, I want to congratulate Mayor Finizio on a job well done. To go from a $3.7 million deficit to two balanced budgets in a row shows leadership, discipline and skill. When he walked into office, he inherited a financial mess. I'm very impressed with how quickly he's cleaned it up.
