Portion of Shewville Road in Ledyard road closed after accident

Ledyard – Shewville Road between Whitford and Gallup Hill roads is closed due to a car accident that occurred at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Emergency dispatchers said a car hit a utility pole and crews are on the scene removing the pole. Power is expected to be out in the area while the pole is being replaced. The road is expected to remain closed for several hours.

No one was injured in the accident.
