    Local roundup: Old Lyme routs Ledyard in boys' lacrosse

    Old Lyme — Henry Hunt had seven goals and two assists as the Old Lyme High School boys' lacrosse team defeated Ledyard 15-3 Saturday.

    Jake Fenton added four goals and three assists, Ian Humphreys three goals and two assists and Sal Tinnerello a goal and an assist for Old Lyme (10-3). George Doll made three saves in goal.

    Paul Bossardet had 10 saves for Ledyard (5-7).

    In other games:

    • Allen Schroeder made 27 saves for St. Bernard/Wheeler in a 13-12 overtime loss against St. Paul. Pat Brady had four goals for St. Bernard (1-13), Tim Bouchard three goals, Jack Feeley and Ryan Londregan two goals each and Michael Guth one.

    • Erik Aarsand had six goals and two assists for East Lyme in a 15-10 loss to Barlow. Aaron Dixon added two goals and Mason Pagan had three assists for East Lyme (10-4). Connor Martin scored seven goals for Barlow, which outshot East Lyme 47-20.

    Girls' lacrosse

    • Margit Burgess had two goals and two assists and Margot Calmar had eight interceptions for Stonington in a 15-3 victory over Wheeler in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Small Division. Hannah Johnson, Casey Williams and Kailyn Naholnik added two goals each for Stonington (10-4, 7-1), which is tied for first place in the Small Division with Waterford.

    • Maddie Norman scored six goals and Sydney Cendana added six assists to lead No. 3 Glastonbury (12-1) to a 17-3 nonleague win over East Lyme. Vanessa Vurno, Alley Lorah and Hailey Gordon each scored a goal for the Vikings (10-4) and goalie Alex Rose made 12 saves.

    College baseball

    • Regular-season champion Houston completed a three-game American Athletic Conference sweep of UConn with a 1-0 victory over the Huskies in the regular-season finale for both schools. Jordan Tabakman went the distance for UConn (33-23, 11-13), which will be the No. 6 seed in the upcoming AAC tournament and play No. 3 Tulane on Tuesday in Clearwater, Fla. Houston, ranked No. 19 nationally, is 39-17, 16-8.

    H.S. baseball

    • Trevor Bolduc threw a no-hitter for six innings in Ledyard's 2-0 loss to Plainfield. Bolduc left the game trailing 1-0 on an unearned run. Nick Smith had Ledyard's only hit against Plainfield pitcher Jordan Federer, who pitched a complete-game one-hitter and had Plainfield's only hit.

    • Dylan Feeney pitched a complete-game six-hitter for East Lyme in an 11-1 victory over RHAM. Feeney (3-2) struck out six and walked two. Alex Tryon was 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI, Matt Spang 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored and Sam Gonski 2-for-4 with three runs scored for East Lyme (12-5).

    • Kyle Whipple had two hits for Stonington in a 9-2 loss to Woodstock Academy. Stonington is 6-11.

    Softball

    • Briana Bisson's three-run home run highlighted Ledyard's 21-6 victory over New London. Kali Money had three hits, three runs scored and four RBI for Ledyard (7-10), Jessica Kuelling two hits, two runs and two RBI and Olivia Satti an RBI triple with two runs. Tiffany McPherson tripled and scored for New London (0-15), Nikita Terry and Kenya Capers each had an RBI single and scored and J'Lise Potter had an RBI single and scored twice.

    Boys' tennis

    • Avery Oefinger, Avish Patel, Mitchell Edwards and Tristan Blair won singles matches for Stonington in a 7-0 victory over Killingly in the ECC Medium Division. Stonington won all seven matches in straight sets and only dropped nine games in all. Winning doubles teams were Ryan Sealy-Chris Tsang, Will Pereira-Pablo Lominchar and Jonathan Armstrong-Sam Snediker. Stonington is 8-4, 6-2.

    Girls' tennis

    • Stonington's singles players remained unbeaten in the Bears' 7-0 victory over Killingly in the ECC Medium Division. Hannah Fabianski, Emily Gardiner, Taylor Startz and Charlotte Johnstone won their singles matches for Stonington (12-0, 8-0). Doubles winners were the teams of Mallory McArdle-Claire Morehouse, Gina Feliciano-Morgan Parrilla and Jen Carroll-Mackenzie Sadler.

    • Waterford beat New London 7-0 in an ECC Medium Division match on Friday. Katie Lewis, Jessie Hudson, Fran Secor and Sarah Verity were all straight-set winners for the Lancers (11-2, 5-2). Also winning in straight sets were the teams of Alaina Moger-Sophie Wang, Sophie Impelleteri-Deepa Reddy and Tessa Dipollina-Caylee Kraemer.
