New London — Police have released surveillance imagery related to the Memorial Day shooting on Crystal Avenue that injured a teenage girl and a 4-year-old.

Police are asking for the public’s help in trying to identify the shooters.

Police had responded to 40 Crystal Ave. about 9:52 p.m. Monday after receiving numerous 911 calls reporting a shooting. Witnesses said two men had approached the courtyard area of the apartment complex and at least one of them started shooting.

The teen sustained a gunshot wound, which was not life threatening, to the arm. The child sustained what police described as a “minor graze wound,” but it was unclear it was from a bullet. Both victims were taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Police indicated the teen was not the intended target but did not elaborate.

Anyone with information about the suspects or vehicle in the photos is asked to contact the New London Police Detective Division at (860) 447-1481 or the Tip411 anonymous tip line; all calls are confidential.
