It's 'Bloodline' and English murder mysteries for us until 'True Detective' starts

When “Mad Men” ended, we thought we might lighten up our TV-viewing with some quick and easy programs. We were due for some brevity after the emotional ride we took with Don Draper. Kimmy Schmidt-fest here we come! We’ve even read a few books...like, the kind with pages in them. (Of course, one of us can’t remember the title of the book she’s reading, but still, we’re exercising the old noggin a bit.)

And yes, while the adventures of Kimmy Schmidt and the Gilmore Girls have kept us from total existential meltdown, we’ve both wandered back into the darker realms of TV drama more often than we should. Among our latest picks? “Bloodline” (as ominous as the title suggests); “Wolf Hall” (Henry VIII’s court has nothing on the Underhills of “House of Cards”); and “Midsomer Murders,” a jolly little MURDER mystery series. Our next big show that we plan to co-watch? “True Detective” — just watch the trailer to see how upbeat that’s going to be.

We’re not sure what’s wrong with us either, but we try to talk it out on our latest “TV Takeout” podcast.
