Kate series on CPTV nominated for New England Emmy

The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center series featuring Jarrod Spector, produced and televised on Connecticut Public Television and filmed at The Kate in Old Saybrook, has been nominated for four New England Emmy Awards. The series is nominated in the categories of Art and Entertainment, Audio, Performer/Narrator, and Graphic Arts Set Design.

The Kate teamed up with CPTV for a season of six shows that are being televised nationwide and were recorded live at the Kate in 2015 and 2016. The series focused on acts that were a mash-up of music and stories.

Spector’s was the first show in the CPTV series, filmed on Feb. 23, 2015. Spector, who played Frankie Valli in more than 1,500 performances of Broadway’s “Jersey Boys,” shared experiences from Broadway as well as music by Valli and the many artists Valli influenced.

This year’s New England Emmy Award Ceremony will be held in Boston on June 4.
