Film by New London native makes it to national competition

A film directed by New London native Kathryn Shasha has qualified for the Project Greenlight Untold Story Rally.

The Project Greenlight Untold Story Rally is a competition held in partnership between HBO’s Project Greenlight and the Seed & Spark crowdfunding platform. Documentary film projects compete for the chance to receive funds of up to $20,000 and mass distribution to 100 million households.

To qualify, a documentary in production had to raise a minimum of $10,000 and gain at least 500 followers through Seed & Spark. Out of those that qualify, the 10 documentaries with the most followers will advance to the finals where a panel of judges will determine which film project has the most merit.

The film “Inner U Destroyed?” is a documentary exploring the claims of thousands of women on social media who said that side effects from their IUD went unrecognized. It also examines whether the public is adequately informed of IUD side effects.

To learn more about the project or to follow the film’s progress, go to https://www.seedandspark.com/studio/inner-u-destroyed-3. The winner will be announced in August.
