    Kathleen Ringler recently joined Chelsea Groton Financial Services as Vice President and as a Financial Advisor representative of Infinex Investments, Inc., member FINRA/SIPC.

    Ringler is a graduate of Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. She has been in the business for 18 years, working for Fidelity and MFS on the sales desk. Most recently, Ringler worked as a Financial Advisor with BARI Investments, a division of Bank RI. She lives in North Kingstown, R.I.

    WORKSHOPS

    The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT will present a workshop on “Rock Your Holidays with Email Marketing” Thursday, Dec. 1, noon-1 p.m. at the Chamber’s office, 914 Hartford Turnpike, 2nd floor, Waterford. Presented by marketing experts from Constant Contact, this workshop will show you how to create a measurable marketing plan, select appropriate audiences, make your email pop, and will offer insights on how to make your email social media-friendly and sharable. Guests are encouraged to bring their lunch along to this casual lunchtime discussion. Admission is free for Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT, $10 for non-members.     The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT will host its annual Business Breakfast Honoring Social Service Agencies Friday, Dec. 2, 7:45-9:45 a.m. at the New London Holiday Inn, 35 Governor Winthrop Boulevard. Sponsored by Citizens Bank. Eastern CT Social Service Awards, sponsored by SAVA Insurance Group, will be presented. A volunteer of the year, staff member of the year, board member of the year, and executive director of the year will be given special recognition. Admission is $17 for Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT members, $25 for non-members, and includes breakfast. This breakfast is open to the public.     In a ceremony at the Rhode Island Air National Guard auditorium at Quonset Point in Rhode Island, Rite-Solutions, Inc. was recently honored as part of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Team supporting the development of the next generation of the Navy’s electronic warfare suite.

    Two Rite-Solutions employees, Mark Levesque and Paul Forchione, were awarded the Association’s Special Achievement Award for Naval Submarine Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence Innovation Team Excellence.

    Maria Attwood of Seniors Helping Seniors in Mystic has been recognized for excellence in caregiving to seniors with Alzheimer's at the annual Caregiver Recognition Luncheon hosted by the Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter, Eastern Region.

    Seniors Helping Seniors provides nonmedical companion care to help seniors, with or without Alzheimer's, remain independent in their homes. Services may include light housekeeping, meal preparation, errand runs and trips to medical appointments.

    GIVING

    Westerly Community Credit Union donated 50 turkeys to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center for the third year in a row. The PNC will distribute approximately 500 Thanksgiving baskets.

    Connecticut’s Credit Unions recently donated $6,000 to Operation Fuel. Working together to raise funds, credit unions contribute to various causes around the state every year. Operation Fuel is Connecticut’s only statewide nonprofit energy assistance program.

    Reliance Health, formerly Reliance House, a Norwich-based non-profit community mental health center, is the recipient of the Backus 2016 President’s Award.

    The award, which includes a $5,000 donation to the organization, was announced at Backus Hospital’s Annual Meeting on Nov. 16. It was established in 2011 to honor people and organizations that collaborate with Backus to help improve health and quality of life in the community.

    The recipient of this year’s award was chosen by hospital Vice President of Finance Dan Lohr who is retiring at the end of the year. Lohr, who was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his 25 years of service to Backus, is known for his charitable work in the community.

    Reynolds’ Subaru has selected Center for Hospice Care Southeast Connecticut as its Hometown Charity for the 2016 Subaru Share the Love Campaign. For every new Subaru sold from through Dec. 31, customers will be able to select one of four national charities or Center for Hospice Care as the recipient of a $250 donation.

    For the Reynolds family of Reynolds’ Subaru, the selection of Hospice is very personal. The family lost their father, Gary, suddenly to a brain tumor three years ago, and Center for Hospice Care assisted their family with many aspects of his care.
