    All-state boys' soccer, volleyball teams announced

    Madison Bell of East Lyme was the only local player to be a first-team selection on the Connecticut High School Coaches Association all-state volleyball team.

    Seven local players made the Connecticut Soccer Coaches Association all-state team. NFA senior midfielder David Hernandez made the Class L team, East Lyme senior forward Anthony Abramov made the Class L team and Old Lyme senior midfielder Danny Reid made the Class S team.

    Waterford and Montville landed two players each on the Class M team. Waterford put senior forward Daniel Castelpoggi and senior midfielder Stephen Lavoie on the team and Montville senior midfielder Lucas Chaude and senior defender Noah Cook made the team. All four made the team for the second time.

    Bell, a junior libero, made the Class L team. Second-team picks in volleyball were junior setter Kayley Ericson of Norwich Free Academy (Class LL), senior libero Caroline Parker of Fitch (Class L) and senior outside hitter Madison Bodley of Norwich Tech (Class S).
