Can snide comments about Trump backers

I'm writing in response to the letter, “Trump backers left behind for a reason,” (March 9). The letter's author  states that President Trump voters "didn't improve their job skills, secure a stronger vocation, maintain better health" and more. I don't think that this kind of generalization is helpful to anyone. At this unique and troubling time in America, it's more important than ever not to present our opinions as facts. We must also consider the harm that is done when we broadly criticize almost half of our country's citizens.

I didn't vote for Trump and every day's news brings more heartache to me and my family; the losses of so many things we have worked for. I don't know how we can grow and "be great" under Trump's policies, but I'm sure that criticizing his supporters isn't it.
