State's gravy train never seems to arrive

On the front page of the Aug. 20 Day there was an article that stated, “Cash-strapped Connecticut proceeds with tax-free week.” It seems to me I remember many years ago it was said that the building of Millstone (nuclear) Power Station would help Connecticut financially. It jogs in my memory that I also remember that same thing being said when the approval was given for Foxwoods, then again to the OK for Mohegan Sun. Now it's being repeated once again for another casino in north Connecticut.

Add on the cost to reside here and the public is buying this? Give me a break. Suppose Connecticut didn't have access to the tax revenues and economic activity generated by this entities? What then? How much bull are the citizens of this fine state expected to take before we find out where the money is really going?
