Will Evans brings his band Saturday to the Knick

Whether solo, with the late, lamented Barefoot Truth or with his current backing band Rising Tide, Westerly singer-songwriter Will Evans is a decided musical force. His penchant for nuancing sky-surfing pop melodies with oft-danceable rhythms is abundantly present on the 2016 "Signal Flares" album, and, live, with a buoyant and kindly onstage personality, Evans is a popular live draw.

Evans + Rising Tide perform Saturday at the Knickerbocker Music Center. Expect plenty of favorites, some new songs — and an entire set of lovingly arranged tunes from the catalog of Tom Petty.
