    Podiatrist Sean Colsen, DPM, has joined the Westerly Hospital Medical Staff.     B. Michael Rauh, president and chief executive officer of Chelsea Groton Bank, was recently named chairman of the board of directors of L+M Healthcare and Lawrence + Memorial Hospital. Rauh, who began his role in October, succeeds R. Alan Hunter. Rauh has been part of the L+M Hospital board since 2011 and the L+M Healthcare board since 2014.

    EVENTS

    This year marks the 34th anniversary of the Westerly Community Credit Union Holiday Basketball Tournament. The tournament will welcome back the teams from Chariho, South Kingstown, Stonington and Westerly High Schools. Westerly Community Credit Union underwrites all expenses and donates every dollar of the gate proceeds directly to the participating schools sports boosters. Last year each of the four participating schools received $2,470.64. To date, this tournament has raised $214,351.25.

    This year’s tournament will be held Dec. 26-29 at Westerly High School. All-day admission will be taken at the door: $3 for students and $4 for adults. For more information, visit www.westerlyccu.com.

    The Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce announced the 2017 Annual Award recipients at its annual meeting, held Dec. 6 at The Kate. The recipients were: Business of the Year: Essex Printing, owner Bill McMinn and his wife Sigrid Kun; Nonprofit of the Year: Acton Public Library, Nathan Wise, Board Chairman; Volunteer of the Year: Peter Mezzetti, host and executive producer on his Public Access TV show with Valley Shore Community TV in Westbrook; and Community Impact Award: Valley Shore YMCA, Chris Pallatto, Executive Director.
