Montville — Adrien Nunez had 10 points and 7 rebounds as the St. Thomas More men’s basketball team beat Cheshire Academy 88-62 on Saturday to win the Founder’s Tournament and give head coach Jere Quinn his 997th career win.

D.J. Mitchell and Jack Sorenson both had 12 points for T-More (11-6) and Brandon Martin had nine points, seven rebounds and three assists. Jared Garcia added 11 points and Jair Currie 10 points.

• Domenico Santiago made 15 of his 18 shots for a career-high 33 points with 11 rebounds as Mitchell College beat Newbury 98-77 to remain unbeaten in the New England Collegiate Conference. Alan Morgan had eight points, seven rebounds and 16 assists and Hasani Williams had 20 points and 14 rebounds for Mitchell (7-7, 3-0). Also, Brayvon Young scored 18.

• Jacee Hamelin scored 19 points for Avery Point in a losing effort as North County CC defeated the Pointers 70-60. Stonington’s Amadi White had 13 points and eight rebounds for Avery Point and New London's Tyrel Martinez had 11 points and six rebounds.

• Chris Rodgers had a game-high 18 points, nine rebounds and seven assists as WPI thumped Coast Guard Academy 90-64 in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference. WPI had a 25-3 run that spanned both halves. Justin Kane had 12 points and nine rebounds for the Bears (8-5, 0-4) and Noah Baldez scored 10.

Women's basketball

• Stonington’s Tatyana LaFrance-Boyce made all seven of her free throws and finished with 32 points and 14 rebounds as Avery Point routed Nassau CC 93-52. Meagan Bianchi had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Pointers (10-5, 5-1) and Waterford’s Mia Brennan had 14 points and five assists. Also, Egypt Santos had 13 points and seven rebounds and Edona Thaqi scored 15.

• Marissa Sweeney had 11 points and a game-high 18 rebounds to lead Mitchell past Southern Vermont 52-41 in the NECC. Francesca Pinard had nine points and nine rebounds and Ashley Beauford scored 11 for Mitchell (5-9, 4-2), which started the fourth quarter with a 15-4 run to pull away.

• Meggie Corcoran had 16 points and eight assists as Connecticut College trounced Hamilton 72-54 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference. Reserve Kylie Caouette had a game-high 17 points with four assists for Conn (10-4, 2-2) and Sami Ashton added 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.

• Caitlin Aguirre scored a game-high 20 points as Wellesley downed Coast Guard 65-55 in the NEWMAC. Micaela Martinelli had 14 points and four rebounds for the Bears (6-7, 3-4).

Men’s hockey

• Connor Rodericks made 33 saves as Conn College stunned Hamilton, 3-0, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game. Hamilton (9-2-1, 4-2-1) outshot the Camels, 33-10. Jake Farabee, Jake Farabee and Chris Jellison scored for Conn (3-8, 3-3) and A.J. Wallace, Jeff Thompson and Ryan Petti each had an assist.

Indoor track and field

• Gabrielle Troise was first in the weight throw (49 feet, 6.25 inches) and Leilani Salang was second (49-1) for Coast Guard at the Tufts Invitational. Rachel Burchill (19:07.89) and Kirsten Carson (19:41.33) finished first and second, respectively, in the 5,000-meter race for Coast Guard and Troise was third in the shot put (39-9.75).

Other placewinners for the Bears were Ashlee Johnson (800, 2:24.84, second), Anita Green (mile, 5:23.99, third), Anna Beck (400, 1:03.20, fourth), Adora Lawrence (800, 2:28.17, sixth), and Maeve Roach, Mia Huncharek, Lawrence and Johnson (4x400, 4:15.26, fourth).

In the men's meet, Coast Guard's Luke Rehfuss, Jacob Pawlina, Nicholas Frystak and Raeford Penny teamed to win the 4x400 (3:25.75). The Bears' Matthew Doyle finished second in the 5,000 (16:02.21), followed by teammates Alex Kearney (16:10.24), Colton Atkinson (16:15.27), Jacob Panning (16:44.32) and Kyle Hansen (17:07.14).

Other top finishers for Coast Guard were Justin Jezuit (200, 22.95, fifth), Benjamin Taminger (800, 1:25.23, sixth), Josiah Davis (800, 2:00.52, fourth), Matthew Kerst (800, 2:02.08, sixth), Penny (400, 50.82, third), and Pawlina (200, 22.95, fifth).

Men's swimming

• Fourth-ranked MIT downed Coast Guard 189-103 in the NEWMAC. Taylor Rowe (1,000 freestyle, 9:51.91), Eric Fuhs (400 IM, 4:18.17) and Drew Cheneler (1-meter diving, 293.54 points) all won for Coast Guard (4-2).

Women's swimming

• MIT, ranked eighth nationally, thumped Coast Guard 180-102. Kristen Young (200 freestyle, 1:56.23) and Samantha Kenis (400 IM, 4:59.27) had wins for Coast Guard (3-5).
