    UConn men release non-conference basketball schedule for 2019-20

    Storrs — Games against Florida and Villanova highlight a 13-game non-conference announced by the UConn men's basketball program on Monday.

    Both schools are projected as consensus Top 10 preseason picks.

    UConn will host Florida on Tuesday, Dec. 17, and visit Villanova on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Sites for all non-conference home games (Gampel Pavilion or the XL Center in Hartford) and times for all games will be announced later.

    Dates, times, venues and television coverage for the entire schedule — including the Huskies' final American Athletic Conference season — will be announced in the coming months, UConn said in its release.

    UConn and Florida last played in 2015, a 63-59 road win by the Huskies in Gainesville. UConn leads the all-time series 3-1, including a 63-53 win over the Gators at the 2014 NCAA national semifinals in Arlington, Texas.

    The Huskies and Villanova, who will become Big East rivals again in 2020-21, will be playing the for third straight season. It will be the 67th meeting between the two programs.

    UConn will also play in the Jimmy V Classic for the fourth time at Madison Square Garden and will take part in the Charleston (S.C.) Classic for the first time. The Huskies will face Indiana in the Jimmy V Classic on Dec. 10 as part of a doubleheader that includes Louisville and 2019 national finalist Texas Tech.

    They will also host Saint Joseph's on Nov. 13 in an unbracketed game of the Charleston Classic before opening the three-game tourney against Buffalo on Nov. 21. UConn will play either Xavier or Towson on the second day of the tournament and following an off day will play its final game against an opponent from the other bracket, either Florida, Saint Joseph's, Miami (Fla.) or Missouri State.

    The Huskies' other non-conference games (all at home) are against Sacred Heart in the season opener Friday, Nov. 8, Maine (Nov. 30), Iona (Dec. 4), St. Peter's (Dec. 18), New Hampshire (Dec. 22) and NJIT (Dec. 29).

    A public exhibition game will also be announced later.
