Ear Candy for the Soul guests on Thursday's 'Live Lunch Break' in Hygienic Art Park

The bewitching intricacies and possibilities of acoustic music can take varied, oft-surprising paths. This is wonderfully captured by Ear Candy for the Soul, the duo performing at noon Thursday for The Day's "Live Lunch Break" concert series, taking place in New London's Hygienic Art Park.

Classically trained violinist Dana Takaki and guitarist/vocalist/songwriter ArleneWow! formed Ear Candy for the Soul after they met pursuing their respective and busy schedules throughout the Connecticut music scene. It wasn't long before they properly figured out their combined skills might result in a many-splendored, multi-textured musical alchemy. Gorgeous stuff.

Their debut album, "Ear Candy for the Soul: Live at Silk City Music Factory, Vol. 1," came out earlier this year, and it should be fun to hear material from that CD as well as newer works.

And never forget that "Lunch Break" is literal. Supreme Hot Dogs will be on hand to provide your noontime feast.
