Quiet Life returns to play New London

Though roots band Quiet Life has been firmly ensconced in Portland, Ore., for years, most folks in these parts will always consider them hometown dudes. After all, they started out in Waterford and were part of the New London scene for a good while. Plus, as inveterate road fiends, the band usually makes it back to New England a few times each year.

Such is the case at holiday time. On the road behind their latest album, "Housebroken Man," QL appears Sunday at the Oasis Pub in New London at 10 p.m. "Housebroken Man" was released in August by Mama Bird Recordings and, in addition to a fine batch of new tunes, it also features cameos from Cary Ann Hearst of Shovels and Rope and Jim James from My Morning Jacket.

Also on the Oasis bill is Hanging Hills. Admission is $5; (860) 447-3929.
