    SCORE moving its NL office

New London — The nationally recognized business-advisory group SCORE is moving its city office to the board room at the Public Library of New London beginning May 26.

Alan Mayer, SCORE team leader in New London, said the library will be a more convenient location than office space at the New London Main Street offices on State Street. The board room is at ground level near the library's parking area.

Since opening the SCORE office in the city a year ago, Mayer and his team have led 88 sessions with clients, and more than half of the potential business owners return for a second meeting. Mayer reported that client ratings for the local office have been among the most favorable of all SCORE mentoring sites in Connecticut, according to a survey administred by the group's national headquarters.

SCORE offers free, confidential advice on a wide range of issues involving small businesses, including finding financial support and creating business plans. Local advisers include an expert in retailing, the owner of a national media company, a financial expert and a retired marketing specialist, and people with many other backgrounds are available at other SCORE sites around the state.

Local counselors have set hours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first, second and fourth Thursdays of the month. An appointment is required.

To set up a meeting, visit sect.score.org online or email Mayer at alan@mayerpartners.com. Further information is available at 860-437-7868.
