    Local colleges: Conn College picks up first win

    New London — The Connecticut College men’s basketball team picked up its first win of the season, beating Roger Williams 73-60 in a nonleague game on Sunday.

    Zuri Pavlin had eight points and 15 rebounds for Conn, which rallied from a 39-33 halftime deficit. Daniel Janel and Tyler Rowe had 13 points each, Lee Messier scored 12 and Sean McNally had eight points for Conn (1-2).

    Women’s basketball

    • Conn College remained undefeated with a 75-57 win over Suffolk in a nonleague game. Payton Ouimette had 15 points and 14 rebounds, Natalia Baum had 14 points and four steals, Liz Malman had 11 points and four assists and Caroline Pangallo came off the bench to score 15 for Conn (4-0).

    Women's hockey

    • Elena Gualtieri had two goals and three assists as Conn College beat Johnson & Wales 10-0 in a nonleague game. Kelley Potter had a goal and three assists and Paige Michel and Julie Beattie had a goal and two assists each for Conn (1-2). Bailey Mertz made 12 saves and Erin Sullivan and Olivia Good had two assists each for Conn.
