Connecticut Sun play preseason home games Wednesday and Thursday

The Connecticut Sun ask fans to bring non-perishable food items to their two home preseason games Wednesday and Thursday as well as their season-opener on June 5.

Connecticut plays host to the Chinese Olympic Team tonight, and the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday. Both games are at Mohegan Sun Arena at 7 p.m. It opens the regular season against the Washington Mystics at the same site and time.

The food will be donated to the New London Community Meal Center, and bins for food collection will be available on the concourse just inside both entrances of Mohegan Sun Arena. The entire team will be volunteering at the Community Meal Center on June 2 as part of the WNBA’s Week of Service.

The Sun began their preseason schedule with a 76-68 win over the Indiana Fever on Saturday. Rookie Chelsea Gray scored 13 and Alyssa Thomas added nine points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
