    Photo exhibit observes ‘Water Babies’

    “Water Babies,” an exhibit of wildlife photos by Old Lyme photographer Willian Burt, is on view through Oct. 12 at the Connecticut River Museum in Essex. The exhibition features 40 framed archival pigment prints of young wetland birds and 18 text panels quoting passages from Burt’s upcoming book of the same name. Subjects include ducks, grebes, gallinules, herons and other wetland birds.

    Burt is a naturalist, writer and photographer with a passion for wild places and elusive birds. His feature stories are seen in Smithsonian, Audubon, National Wildlife and other magazines, and he has written three books.
