Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus announces auditions

The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus is seeking singers for its upcoming 2015-2016 season, featuring Ola Gjeilo’s Sunrise Mass and Elgar’s Coronation March. Auditions will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9, in Leamy Hall on the Coast Guard Academy campus.

Individuals selected for a position in the chorus also will perform Part One of Handel’s Messiah at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Norwich during the month of December.

Auditions are by appointment only and will begin at 7 p.m. Participants are expected to prepare two songs of symphonic works, hymns or church music; those auditioning also will be asked to vocalize and sight read. Participants should bring the piano accompaniment scores of their chosen songs to the audition; an accompanist will be provided.

For an audition application and appointment, contact ECSC President Kathy Walburn at ecscpresident@gmail.com.
