View the summer night sky with the Thames Amateur Astronomy Society and Groton Open Space Association on Friday. Saturn and its rings as well as the Great Summer Star Clusters should be visible. Viewing will take place on the Candlewood Ridge property off of Lambtown Road in Groton. The astronomy club will provide the telescopes and views and possibly a laser sky tour.

Participants should plan to arrive by 8 p.m. The rain date for the viewing will be Saturday. In the event that these days are not good for viewing, the event will be postponed to Friday, Sept. 23. Cancellations will be posted on the Groton Public Library’s Facebook page.

To access Candlewood Ridge, go north from the Flanders/Rte. 184 intersection and look for the second driveway on the left after the Quaker Farm Road stop sign.
