Folk singer Zoe Lewis plays Friday at All Souls in New London

It's probably easier to list the things Zoe Lewis CAN'T do. I'm pretty sure she's not a theorist in the field of cell matrix mechanics. To my knowledge, she's never crafted Beef 'n' Cheddars at Arby's. And it's a fact she didn't win a silver medal in archery at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Anything else? Fair game. Lewis, who headlines Friday Night Folk this week in New London's All Souls Unitarian Universalist Congregation, is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and true vaudevillian storyteller. She loves and explores all types of music — from jazz and Latin to folk, funk and jump swing. Her latest album is called "The Sound of Wings," and, as she often says, her primary goal through her work is to create songs that "build bridges, not walls!"

Zoe Lewis at Friday Night Folk, 7 p.m. Friday, All Souls Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 19 Jay St., New London; $17 in advance, $20 at door, $10 students and military; (860) 433-0316.
