The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford held its annual gala on Saturday, and the evening was in honor of Dominion Energy, which has been supporting the O'Neill and the southeastern Connecticut community through charitable giving and volunteerism over the years.

Since purchasing the Millstone Power Station in 2000, Dominion has contributed over $11.5 million to nonprofits. Dominion director Kevin Hennessy spoke about the partnership between Dominion and the O'Neill at the gala. Most recently, their contributions helped transform the lighting in the Rufus & Margo Rose Barn Theater at the O'Neill so it's now all LED — safer, cooler, more energy efficient, and with greatly expanded design capabilities.

At the gala, Abby Mueller, who plays the lead role in Broadway's "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical," performed the songs of Carole King.
