Comics convention takes over Mohegan Sun this weekend

Comic fans, unite! Connecticut’s largest comic convention, Terrificon (brought to you by Big Fedora Marketing, LLC), is headed to Mohegan Sun this weekend, and with it will come a chance for comic fanatics to indulge in, well, all things comic. Attend panels featuring top industry writers and artists, meet famous actors, take part in costume competitions, and shop for artwork, pop-culture memorabilia, gaming goods and, you guessed it, comic books.

But out of all that excitement, be sure to check out some of these panels for exclusive comic industry insight you won’t easily find anywhere else:

    — "Comics' Long Lost Love" with Barbara Friedlander, 4 to 5 p.m. Friday.

    — "The Psychology of Wolverine" with Dr. Suzana Flores and Roy Thomas, 5 to 6 p.m. Friday.

    — "What's New at Marvel Comics" with editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski and writers Charles Soule and Nick Spencer, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday

And Saturday’s special presentation: "Marvel Comics: The Last 45 Years" with Marvel editors-in-chief Roy Thomas and C.B. Cebulski, which runs from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m.

    Terrificon, 3 p.m.-9 p.m. Fri., 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sat. and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sun., Mohegan Sun Exposition Center; $29.75-$75, free for children 10 and under; 1-800-745-3000.
