    Silver Circle celebrates six years

Do you suppose - since he's arguably the most successful and prolific craftsman of all time - that Santa ever shows up at an artist's reception in honor of his own work? Have any galleries even TRIED to get the Claus Man to attend an artist's reception? Sigh. Well, admittedly, logistics are presumably a bit of a problem. However, there IS an artists' reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Silver Circle Gallery and Art Center in Putnam in celebration of their "Six Year Anniversary Small Works Show." Twenty-nine member artists contributed small-scale/reasonably-priced pieces for the exhibit - including Eric Spencer's "Arabian Nights," shown here - and partial proceeds from sales will be donated to the gallery's Therapeutic Arts and Scholarship Fund. Show runs through Dec. 28, and the gallery's located at 75 Main St. #3, Putnam. Hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wed.-Sat. and noon-4 p.m. Sun.; (860) 928-2900, silvercirclegallery.com.
