Brunch is one of those events where even the dichotomous spouses — She's the noble vegetarian, He's the rip-apart-meat-with-his-fangs carnivore — can reliably expect to find plenty of respective options. This is beautifully on display each Saturday and Sunday on the new brunch menu at Fatboy's Kitchen in New London. Consider an order of avocado toast ($12), which includes slabs of the tender, mashed fresh fruit ladled across chewy baguette slices, then blanketed under two fried eggs so the yolky run-off could intermingle. On the other end of the spectrum, chicken & biscuits ($14) features two bulging, deep-fried hunks of boneless breast meat atop homemade biscuits, then slathered with a creamy sausage gravy. Did the carnivore ditch the asparagus stalks positioned on top of it all? Yes. Otherwise, pretty great stuff — and don't be afraid to sit on the outdoor deck and enjoy the weather.
