    High school tennis roundup: Wildcats go the distance, win four three-setters, for victory

    Old Lyme — The Old Lyme High School boys' tennis team won four three-set matches to top Westbrook 6-1 Wednesday, keeping Old Lyme unbeaten at 4-0.

    Luke Grabowski won in three sets at No. 2 singles, 4-6, 6-0, 6-4, while Austin Pilgrim went the distance to win his No. 4 singles match 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 and the doubles teams of Alex Clippinger-Adam Czarnecki and Morgan Greeno-Luke Konishesky also won in three sets.

    Brendan White and Eric Pan added singles wins for the Wildcats.

    In other matches:

    • Stonington beat New London/Wheeler 7-0 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Medium Division match. Alan Carroll, Avish Patel, Mitchell Edwards and Tristan Blair won singles matches for Stonington (1-1, 1-1).

    • Hunter Stepanian won his No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-0 and Montville topped Grasso Tech 6-1. Rohit Sinha and Gerald Aquino also won singles matches for Montville (1-1) and the teams of Justin Santacroce-Tristan Pool and Mason Whittaker-JP Aquino won in doubles.

    • East Lyme beat Ledyard 7-0 in an ECC Large Division match. Suryansh Patel, Nipun Hewage, Nick Hotary and Eric Wu won singles matches for the Vikings (2-0, 2-0), losing just five games.

    • Williams School beat Rocky Hill School 5-2. Jon Powell, James Burris and Joe Reiser won singles matches for Williams.

    • Lyman Memorial beat St. Bernard 5-2 in an ECC Small Division match. Alex Zuczek won at No. 1 singles and the team of David Abraham and Patrick Mahoney won at No. 1 doubles for St. Bernard (0-2, 0-2).

    Girls

    • Stonington didn't drop a set en route to a 7-0 win over New London in the ECC Medium Division. Hannah Fabianski, Emily Gardiner and Gina Feliciano won singles matches for the Bears (2-0, 2-0).

    • Old Lyme lost to Westbrook in the Shoreline Conference, falling 5-2. Emily Brault won her match and the doubles team of Holly Fiscus and Keelin Hurtt also won for Old Lyme.

    • Jennifer Hester, Mia Ferguson and Meagan McAdams won singles matches for Montville in a 6-1 victory over Grasso Tech. Montville is 1-1.
