Proposed water line is far too expensive

Brian Lynch, WPCA finance administrator and Tim May Chairman of the WPCA in Montville, are pushing for a $7 million water line from Route 32 up Route 163 to the high school.

They are trying to sell the project on the premise that it will open up the door for more commercial development.

I know there is very little commercial land along Route 163 that has potential for development. Most of the land is zoned industrial or commercial and has residential homes on the property and also a lot of wetlands that cannot be developed.

Have you noticed all the ponds and streams along Route 163?

In my opinion, this is a special interest project only to benefit a certain few and not the town as a whole. SCWA gave a presentation a while back to the Board of Education and said they could supply water to the school for $53,000.

Why on earth would these two be pushing to spend $7 million instead of $53,000?

Montville Democrats need to stop looking for ways to spend money and start looking for ways to reduce taxes. If this comes to a vote, vote no.
