Before urging student protests, get the facts

Apparently, there was bias - "Fitch HS die-in protest a learning experience," (March 17). The educated individual at Fitch High School, asking students to lie on a publicly trodden floor to demonstrate, before getting all the facts, should have not jumped to a conclusion based on the color of someone's skin.

That is ignorance and racism. The U.S. Attorney General's report has been completed and made public. Inciting a riot caused the destruction of private businesses whose innocent business owners will never recover economically from their loss and continue to provide financially for their families.

This is a disgrace. Many people in Ferguson and elsewhere should hang their heads in shame for destroying this community.

Getting the facts and demonstrating peacefully is always respected by the majority. Let's teach our children growing up in a violent society to stop, think and reasonably wait to collect all the facts before hurting others. Remember the media thrives on sensationalism and apologizes later. They are driven by ratings. We as an educated society should rise above their behavior.
