Kelo was an awful Supreme Court ruling

In regards to the article, “New residential proposal for Fort Trumbull in New London,” (March 21), on Fort Trumbull. I had the privilege of doing the title research of many of the Fort Trumbull homes and I was sickened when that decision came down from the U.S. Supreme Court. I found these families had been living there for 50 to 75 years forming a decent little village of working folk, known to each other and lucky enough to feel the fresh sea breezes on their faces as they stepped out of their front doors each morning, now deprived of their property rights.

I was so happy to read your article on the Kelo decision because it affirmed my own opinion that the decision was not driven by accurately interpreted law. Congratulations to the states that have moved to assure this injustice does not repeat and all those who have also voiced the same opinions. And I add my praise for good reporting.
