Elect new leaders of teachers' union

    xxxxx

A very important election will be taking place in May. Teacher representatives will be electing a new CEA president and vice-president at the Representative Assembly. The current leadership of CEA has miserably failed the 43,000 teachers in the state by their endorsement and support of Dannel Malloy.

The teachers in our state were attacked by a governor who acted like a bully in his first term. And where was CEA when he ran again; busy endorsing the most anti-education, anti-teacher Democratic governor in the country. The Political Action Committee told the leadership no endorsement should be given for either candidate this past November. This CEA endorsement was a slap in the face to every teacher who cares about the evils of Common Core, charter schools, and increased testing. And every teacher should be concerned about evaluation protocol, tenure, and their pension security.

I urge every teacher to tell their representatives to vote for the team of Martin Walsh/Scott Minnick for CEA president and vice-president. They will bring transparency to the union, something sorely lacking at present. They will not ignore public school teacher concerns.
