Iran deal a surrender? Let's be realistic

Let's not get our nickers in a twist over the Iran deal, folks. We are the largest nuclear power in the world, our protégé Israel is the largest in the Mideast (an estimated 200 nuclear weapons, but they won't allow inspections, so it's uncertain).

Iran is nearly surrounded by U.S. client states (on the Arabian Peninsula, Turkey, and the 'Stans), many with significant U.S. military assets. U.S. fleet elements are in the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean.

Sure, Iran is a little testy about Western intervention, but after the U.S. sponsored coup to set up the thuggish Shah, the U.S. backed war by Saddam's Iraq, the cyber warfare like the joint U.S./Israel Stuxnet virus, it's understandable.

So we negotiated a deal that, while not perfect, goes a long way towards directing Iran towards peaceful power generation and away from weaponry; without firing a shot. You're so scared of Iran maybe, in 10 years, building one bomb, a bomb which, if the mullahs were to even threaten to use it, would guarantee a glass parking lot from Ahar to Bandar? You think we've "surrendered?" Fine, all you armchair warriors, you go invade Iran. Just don't start something my grandsons will have to finish.
